Caroline Wozniacki was born in Odense, Denmark, the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen, the writer of children’s fairy tales and the beautiful 20-year old player’s life has been like a fairy tale. Born into a sporting family she would spend hours hitting a tennis ball against a wall because no-one would play with a 7-year-old. She was chasing her dream of becoming a tennis champion and she improved rapidly.

As a 10-year-old prodigy, she appeared on Danish Television, and a year later Prince Frederick Andre Henrik Christian, heir to the Danish throne and an avid tennis fan, invited her to Fredensborg Palace to play mixed doubles with him and his friends. The Prince attended her Junior Wimbledon matches and helped pay her travel expenses.

The Danish player has tremendous talent and has a smart and sexy physical structure which is why she has always attracted a lot of media attention. They concentrate as much on her appearance as they do about her playing ability.

Following her match at the US Open this year when she ousted Maria Sharapova to reach the Quarter Finals she was asked at the post-match press conference whether she thought her tight black dress was too short. It barely covered her legs and was quite revealing.

“I think it’s nice,” she said. “I will get a lot of male fans now.” The papers are always speculating whether she has a boyfriend but she always tells them she is not dating anyone.

Wozniacki is fluent in Danish, English, and Polish and has a lot of interest off the court.

She loves to exercise by boxing or swimming and she plays soccer and basketball. She follows closely the career of the Liverpool and Spanish striker Fernando Torres and her favorite tennis player is Roger Federer.

She likes relaxing by reading the Harry Potter books or listening to music, especially Mariah Carey. Her favorite movies are Titanic, Wedding Crashers, Lord of the Rings and National Treasure and she loves film actor Johnny Depp.

Her favorite city for shopping in New York and she loves to visit the designers Armani, Exchange Diesel, Miss 60, Louise Vuitton, and Gucci. Despite her slim figure, she likes steak and potatoes and she also loves Tacos.
