Womens Tennis Clothing Buyers Guides
All the manufacturers of women’s tennis clothing have launched their tennis clothing lines for the new tennis season.
The women’s tennis clothing is inspired by the top players and a lot of the new designs were seen at the 2011 Australian Open.
The most popular item of tennis clothing around at the moment is the Skort. This is a tennis skirt with built-in shorts underneath.
Adidas has brought out several designs and colours which were chosen by Justine Henin, Maria Kirilenko and Melanie Oudin.
The fresh pink skirt with the intense green logo gas an elastic waist and built-in shorts and is one of the Barricade line of clothing designed especially for tennis. Made of 87% polyester and 13% elastane it sells at £27.99 including VAT.
The Barricade tank top which goes with the skirt is white with fresh pink/intense green piping and bonded mesh inserts and collars. The top is £29.99.
There is also an Adidas Barricade warm-up pant in black/intense green that was also chosen by the three women players. The pant has an elastic waist and internal drawcord and is made for ultimate freedom. It costs £34.99 including VAT.
Adidas Women’s adiZero Skort is a very girly looking outfit that was chosen by several top players at the 2011 Australian Open. It comes with a separate contrast colour short underneath and is a double layer skirt with an elastic waist and drawcord for individual adjustment.
The skort is very tight and makes the wearer feel comfortable and safe. It follows every curve of the athlete’s body for a better fit and greater comfort while playing. It comes on collegiate purple/intense green and sells for around £29.39.
The Adidas Women’s Barricade tank top is black/intense green and costs £29.99 and teams well with the Barricade Skort which is intense green with a fresh pink logo, £29.99.
Maria Shaparova chose the Nike cooling Skort which is a sphere dry cooling white mesh tennis skirt over inbuilt white tennis shorts and an elasticated waist and it sells for £16.99.
Nike’s dri-fit green tennis top with an open neck and contrast white piping was the choice of Australian Open winner Kim Clijsters and she teemed it up with a green skirt with a flattering wider elasticated waist band in a contrasting colour. It comes with two ball pockets and retails at £19.99. It does come in a variety of colour.
Nike has also brought out a lightweight cable knit cover-up top with ribbed cuffs and turtle neck. It has a full length zip and contrasting colour trim around the hem and cuffs and inside neck. The top is available in pale turquoise/white or plain white for £24.99.
Fila has some soft lightweight warm-up pants with mesh lining, two side pockets and elasticated waistband with internal drawstrings. There is a toggle option to have the hem open or gathered which makes the pant suitable for players of all heights. There is a variety of colours available for £14.99.
Fila has also brought out a nice tracksuit, the jacket has a full-length zip with two large side pockets and ribbed cuffs. There are stylish bands featured down the front, around the bottom and on the cuffs. The pants have an elasticated drawstring waistband and wide legs, making them easy to put on and off. The tracksuit is on sale for around £29.99 and is available in light blue/grey/cream.
