Argentinian player Gisela Dulko has a penchant for men called Fernando, which is probably good as when she dated Spanish player Fernando Verdasco she had his name tattooed on her arm.
When they broke up she began dating Fernando Gonzalez the ATP Tour player from Chile. Now she is dating another Fernando, Real Madrid player Fernando Gago.
Officially the Number 1 Doubles player in the World Dulko began playing at the age of 7-years-old after watching her brother Alejandro play, and he is now her coach and travels with her.
She lives in the city where she was born, Buenos Aires with her three dogs Goran, Nicole and Guga and her favourite cities after Buenos Aires are Paris and Hawaii. Touring suits her because it gives her a chance to indulge in her favourite hobby shopping, especially for Armani clothes.
She is full of admiration for her mother Ana's strength since her father Estanislao died and her favourite players are Pete Sampras and Marat Safin.
She always showed exceptional talent in doubles and as a junior she won three out of four Grand Slam events, the 2000 US Open with Marķa Emilia Salerni, 2002 Australian Open with Angelique Widjaja and the 2001 Wimbledon Championships with Ashley Harkleroad.
On the senior tour as a professional she had won 12 doubles championships. Four seasons ago she formed a successful doubles partnership with her good friend Flavia Pennetta and they won their 6th combined event at the 2010 Kremlin Cup in Moscow. Because of their successful partnership they were invited to compete in the 2010 WTA Tour Championships in Doha.
They were top seeds and they beat Vania King and Yaroslava Shvedova in the final to become the 2010 WTA Tour Doubles Champions and earn Dulko the No 1 spot in the world as a doubles player. In her career she has won 262 doubles matches, 16 WTA doubles titles and 6 ITF doubles titles.
Her singles career has not been so successful, although she has been constantly ranked in the Top 50 over the last few years. As of October 11 2010 she is currently Number 48.
Dulko had the best win of her career at the 2010 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells when she caused an upset by knocking out former World Number 1 Justine Henin in just over two hours. She broke the Belgian player 6 times during the match but she crashed out in the next round to Number 5 seed Agnieszka Radwanska.
She caused another upset in the first round of the 2010 French Open when she beat World Number 10 Victoria Azarenka 6-1/6-2 in the first round then lost to Chanelle Scheepers in the second round 6-3/3-6/4-6.
At the 2010 China Open in Beijing she beat French player Aravane Rezai in the first round before being beaten by Maria Kirilenko in three sets in the next round and she finished the year dismally losing in the first round of the singles in her remaining tournaments.
2011 has not started too well for her singles competition as she failed to qualify in Sydney and came up against top seed Caroline Wozniacki in the first round of the Australian Open. The World Number 1 proved too strong for Gisela Dulko and she lost 6-3/6-4.
