Andy Murray Defeats Andy Roddick at Wimbledon - July-06
Andy Murray was in stunning form as he defeated the Wimbledon number three seed Andy Roddick in an amazing show of tennis skill in straight sets.
Murray is still only nineteen and un-seeded at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships. However, this is likely to change after he played the best tennis of his career to date, playing against one of the hardest hitters in the game. Andy Roddick found it hard to read Murray’s game and even with his powerful shots he found it difficult to break him down.
Andy Murray succeeded in the game by returning a significant amount of powerful first and second serves. Murray also played with great courage and tactics as he moved the tennis ball with easy around the court mixing up his play and keeping Roddick guessing. The seven-six, six-four, six-four win is the biggest upset of the tournament so far.
Andy Murray paid tribute to Andy Roddick after the tennis match and commented that; “To get into the second week of a Grand Slam for the first time is great.”
“If I play like that I think I've got a good chance of winning my next match”
Therefore, "I am pretty excited just now. I think that has got to be my best win,
beating a two-time Wimbledon finalist."
